Spanish striker Borja Iglesias has come out and claimed that Hector Bellerin is desperate to leave Arsenal and join Real Betis this summer.

The 27-year-old has been on the Gunnersbooks for over a decade now. He burst onto the scene as an exciting young right-back, but it has to be said that he hasn’t quite fulfilled the massive potential he once showed.

Bellerin has been an excellent servant for Arsenal, both on and off the pitch, but it was evident last summer that both parties wanted to part ways.

The Spaniard joined Real Betis on loan and had a really successful campaign there. He’s apparently desperate to return to the Benito Villamarín Stadium this summer, and Iglesias has joked that he’s planning to start a crowdfunding campaign to help raise money to sign him.

Speaking to , the striker said: “Yes, I miss Hector Bellerin. I’m thinking of doing the crowdfunding we said we would do to get him back.

“I come out of training, and people ask me if Hector is coming, and they tell me that they are starting a piggy bank here to raise money.

“Hector Bellerin really wants to come back. He has always said that he wants to play here, what happens is that he has been there for a long time at Arsenal. It is a complicated situation because he has a contract.

“I have always said it. I hope he is here as soon as possible because he gives us a lot inside and outside the locker room./p>

Bellerin has always been a popular figure at Arsenal, and he was the same at Betis when he was on loan there last season.

The Spaniard, branded as an ‘exceptional playerby Mikel Arteta, is in the United States at the moment with the Arsenal squad. He has featured in pre-season games and has even donned the captain’s armband on occasion.

However, having entered the final year of his contract, it is very likely that Bellerin will be sold this summer, but whether Betis will be able to meet Arsenal’s demands remains to be seen.

It will be interesting to see where Bellerin will end up this summer, but if Iglesiascomments are anything to go by, his heart is set on a return to Betis.
