‘Boring’: Jesse Marsch was not impressed by what Everton did against Leeds United last night
Leeds United boss .
Marsch’s men were held to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road last night as Frank Lampard’s men frustrated the home team.
Everton took a 1-0 lead inside the first 20 minutes after Anthony Gordon finished superbly under Illan Meslier.
The Toffees showed brilliant organisation and frustrated Leeds for large parts of the first-half.
Leeds then stepped it up a notch in the second period and found an equaliser through an excellent finish from Luis Sinisterra.
But Marsch was not impressed by Lampard’s tactics on the night and said Everton tried to make the game ‘boring’.

Marsch not impressed by Everton
, Marsch said: “It’s just pure passion [from the Leeds fans]. I’ve had visitors come from different places come and I tell them you can’t explain what it’s like when it’s here.
“It was a draw and a game where Everton tried to make the game boring and the passion of the stadium was just phenomenal.”
Everton implemented their game plan perfectly in the first-half as they limited Leeds significantly.
Marsch could be seen getting visibly frustrated by what he thought was time-wasting by Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The American boss was pointing to his watch repeatedly and his post-match comments show he wasn’t impressed by Everton’s game plan.

Leeds did improve massively in the second-half and created more chances. But Pickford produced two brilliant saves.
And the Toffees could have won the game if it wasn’t for a bit of heroic defending by Rasmus Kristensen. The Leeds defender cleared Amadou Onana’s effort off the line from an Everton corner.
Marsch may think that Everton made the game ‘boring’, but Lampard won’t mind and will be happy to pick up a point at Elland Road.
