‘Blew me away’: Garth Crooks impressed with ‘cold’ Liverpool ace

pundit Garth Crooks has admitted he was ‘blown away’ by Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita in the win against Manchester United at Old Trafford yesterday.

In the end, Keita ended up leaving the field on a stretcher after Paul Pogba’s horror tackle saw him see red. However, selecting his team of the week for the , Crooks picked Keita and admits to being impressed by the midfielder.

“The coolness in which Keita took his goal at Old Trafford just blew me away. Yes, he should have scored but he was facing an in-form David de Gea and I’ve seen so many midfield players bottle it in those positions and miss their opportunity. Keita, however, was as cold as ice,” Crooks .

“The Guinea international started this match against Manchester United to my surprise but didn’t disappoint. The one area that doesn’t appear world class is Liverpool’s midfield and yet they destroyed United, especially in the opening 15 minutes. Manager Jurgen Klopp has got these lads flying.”

Keita, 26, has already scored three goals this season for the Reds as he continues to improve. Klopp, and Keita himself, will be hoping his injury is nothing serious.

TBR’s View: Keita like a new signing for Liverpool

Liverpool fans have rightfully questioned the signing of Keita ever since he arrived at the club. However, he is starting to turn the screw a bit recently.

His performances over the last few weeks have been excellent. And with the Reds losing Gini Wijnaldum in the summer, it’s like they have a new signing on the books.

Liverpool will be hoping Keita is back fit very soon. It was a nasty looking tackle from Pogba. With a bit of luck, it is nothing more than just an impact injury for the Guinea star.
