Bilic states that Austin will make his West Brom debut on Saturday

West Bromwich Albion will seek to maintain their unbeaten start to the new Championship season with a positive result against Luton Town on Saturday.

The Baggies are aiming for automatic promotion back to the Premier League this season. It is therefore vital that manager Slaven Bilic makes a strong start to life at the Hawthorns. He is set to receive a boost this weekend to help his side on to victory. Having from Southampton, Charlie Austin now looks to have achieved full fitness. The striker will apparently make his league debut for his new Championship club this weekend.

This news came from Bilic himself. In his recent press conference, as quoted by the , the Croatian coach said, “Charlie Austin is good…he is definitely going to participate in the game. I’ve got to decide if it will be from the start or in the second-half”.

TBR’s view

If Austin is ready to play a significant role for the Baggies on Saturday then that is a huge boost for them. Having lost Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez in the summer, they are lacking reliable goalscorers. Austin is far more clinical and prolific than Kenneth Zohore, who is the current first choice to lead the line.

Austin is a top striker, but a succession of injuries have held him back in recent years. If the 30-year-old can overcome his unfortunate injury record though then he has the capacity to fire his club to promotion.
