Big worry for Newcastle as Manchester City plot move for their £32m defender compared to Gareth Bale
Newcastle United will be hoping that all their key players stay at St. James’ Park for the next few years to help their footballing project continue to soar.
As a result, Newcastle have no intention of selling Alexander Isak in the summer as such high-profile exits will only make life harder for Eddie Howe.
Keeping Isak is a priority for the Magpies but so should the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento be.
But Newcastle will also have to be prepared about the fact that some of the biggest clubs in Europe will back themselves to tempt some of their most prized assets from bidding farewell to Darsley Park.
With Eddie Howe’s side still sitting in sixth place in the Premier League, perhaps some of their players might also consider their futures to play for sides that are already either competing for or winning titles.
One of Newcastle’s outright best players has now been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Manchester City eyeing Tino Livramento signing as part of rebuild
The player in question is Livramento, who is having yet another impressive season in the famous black and white strip. The £32 million () man has been a mainstay under Eddie Howe this season, starting 24 games in all competitions.

Livramento’s quality has taken Alan Shearer by surprise as he has formed arguably the best full-back pairing alongside Lewis Hall in the Premier League this season.
Theo Walcott even told that the 22-year-old reminds him of a young Gareth Bale.
But what would concern Newcastle is that the has revealed that Manchester City are monitoring a move for Livramento as a potential successor to Kyle Walker — who is expected to leave permanently in the summer.
Manchester City have enquired about signing Andrea Cambiasso as well — as exclusively confirmed by TBR Football — who is the other player they are targeting apart from the Englishman.
As Pep Guardiola and Co aim to rebuild their squad, they are keen to bolster the right-back and central midfield departments.
Livramento alternatives for Newcastle if he signs for Man City
If Livramento’s head is turned, Newcastle will have to have a shortlist in mind to replace one of their most important players.
Newcastle were interested in Castello Lukeba, who is well capable of filling in at right-back despite being a centre-back by trade.
The Magpies could also scour through Europe to assess moves for other talented defenders, such as Arnau Martinez from Girona and LOSC Lille’s Tiago Santos.
Whether Newcastle will look to sign a traditional full-back or a centre-back capable of playing in a back three will be interesting to see if Livramento, who Chris Sutton lauded opts to play his football at the Etihad Stadium next season.
The former Chelsea wonderkid’s contract expires in 2028, which means Newcastle could demand Manchester City to pay a pretty penny to sign him.
For now, Livramento will likely block out all the noise about such links and focus on his side’s upcoming clash against Liverpool on Wednesday.
