Bielsa could transform Leeds midfield with £12m double signing
Preparation for the summer transfer window is already seemingly in full flow at Elland Road, as director of football Victor Orta prepares to transform Leeds United – whether they are in the Championship or the Premier League.
Leeds currently sit third in the second tier, one point behind Sheffield United. With eight games to go, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are the closest they have been to the Premier League in years.
Enthusiasm and optimism are already extremely high at Elland Road, and the excitement levels could turn up another notch if recent reports are to be believed.
That is because the Yorkshire outfit have been linked with a move to sign Nahitan Nandez from Boca Juniors. The 20-time Uruguay international is supposedly available for £12million this summer (broadcast on ClossAm, 26 July, 6;00pm).

, but face competition from Serie A trio Fiorentina, Cagliari and Sampdoria. But if Leeds can beat the trio to the 2018 World Cup star’s signature, they will significantly improve their midfield.
It will be completely transformed if Leeds also sign Ander Iturraspe on a free from Athletic Bilbao. Spanish newspaper claim the 30-year-old Spain international is done at Bilbao, and a Bielsa reunion is on the cards.
Both top, top players. Signing both and combining them in a three-man midfield with Kalvin Phillips would transform the Whites engine room, and give them the best chance of promotion – or staving off relegation.
It would look much more like a Bielsa team. Argentine flair, Spanish power and English composure all combined into a midfield that most Premier League sides would be happy with.
