‘Better than Ozil’ – Fans react to Julian Brandt Dortmund performance, previously linked with Tottenham

Football returned to Europe this weekend as the Bundesliga got underway over in Germany, with the likes of Dortmund, Leipzig, and Hertha Berlin all in action.

Fans around the world will have been tuning in to get a glimpse of the action. Especially given that so many of the Bundesliga’s top stars have been linked with a move to the Premier League.

One of the standout games was the match between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke.

Both teams have a host of impressive players in their squads. Dortmund, especially, have an abundance of talent in the form of Erling Haaland, Thorgan Hazard, and Julian Brandt.

Indeed, it was the performance of Brandt which caught the eye as the ‘Yellows’ demolished Schalke 4-0 at  Signal Iduna Park.

Brandt put in a scintillating display to finish the game with two assists to his name. And in fairness, he could have had a goal or two as well to go along with it.

Having been previously linked with, fans were keen to see what Brandt had to offer.

It’s fair to say, then, that people on Twitter were more than impressed with the German star.

TBR View – Tottenham miss out on a big talent

It looks like Julian Brandt is going to be one that got away for Spurs. What a performance from the former Leverkusen man.

At a time when football needed a blistering return to action, Brandt provided it for Dortmund.

Unfortunately for Spurs, it’s looking like a case of what might have been for the Premier League outfit.
