‘Better than Bale’ – Rangers fans excited to see Jake Hastie in 2019/20

Rangers have confirmed the signing of Motherwell winger Jake Hastie . Hastie will sign a four-year deal when his contract expires at Motherwell this summer.

The Gers will not pay a transfer fee for Hastie as he is out of contract. But given his age, a compensation fee will be owed to Motherwell.

Hastie has enjoyed a spectacular debut season for Motherwell after returning from a loan spell at Alloa Athletic in January.

The 20-year-old has scored seven goals in 14 matches since returning to Motherwell and won the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month award in March.

His performances have not gone unnoticed and Rangers have beaten off widespread competition to land Hastie. The Scotland under-21 winger will now hope to replicate his performances for Motherwell when he moves to Ibrox.

Alongside Jordan Jones, Hastie is one of two wingers already captured by Steven Gerrard on pre-contract agreements. With Ryan Kent likely to be a summer target too, Rangers look well-stocked in this department.
