‘Best performance in a West Ham shirt’: Some Hammers fans blown away by one player’s display v Red Devils
A number of West Ham United fans have praised Issa Diop for his impressive display against Manchester United on Wednesday night.
David Moyes’ Hammers made it through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup thanks to a superb 1-0 win at Old Trafford.
Manuel Lanzini’s early goal proved the difference between the two sides, slotting into the far corner after great work from Ryan Fredericks.

West Ham’s defence had lots of work to do, but they were resolute and succeeded in keeping a clean sheet.
And Diop, one of 10 changes for the Hammers, was rock solid in defence, keeping the Red Devils at bay throughout.
One key moment, which summed up how well he did, saw him make a superb block to thwart a Jesse Lingard shot.
Diop also made seven clearances, three interceptions, and weighed in with two tackles, as per .
The 24-year-old was also pinpoint with his passing, boasting a – the best out of West Ham’s starters and second only to Pablo Fornals (93.8 percent).
Diop hasn’t played in the Premier League yet this term, but this performance will surely give Moyes food for thought.
Here is what some West Ham fans said about Diop’s display:

Though Kral looked very solid tonight, seems like the backup midfielder we’ve needed for years, could be another shrewd Moyes signing.

Diop and Zouma as a long term first choice CB partnership?
Diop joined West Ham in the summer of 2018 from Toulouse for a reported £22.5million, and has made 97 competitive appearances in claret and blue.
He will hope for more minutes on Saturday as the Hammers return to Premier League action.
Moyes’ charges, currently eighth in the table with two wins and two draws from five, head to Leeds United in a 3pm kickoff.
