‘Best in the world’ – Wolves fans drool over Raul Jimenez after his international masterclass

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez took his club form onto the international stage over the weekend.

Mexico kickstarted their Gold Cup campaign in style. And Jimenez played a crucial role in Mexico’s major win over Cuba in California.

The Wolves and Mexico striker scored twice and provided three assists to help his side to an impressive 7-0 victory over the Cubans.

Mexico are considered among the favourites to win the 2019 Gold Cup. This is a tournament comprised of the North American teams.

And their authority was asserted in the opening game. Jimenez was leading the line for the opening 72 minutes, contributing directly to five goals.

He picked up where he left off at Molineux. During his debut season with Wolves, the 28-year-old racked up an impressive tally of 17 goals and eight assists.

Jimenez is a big fan favourite at Wolves. And the fans were delighted to see him performing well in international football too. He is tipped for a big 2019/20 campaign after signing permanently from Atletico Madrid.
