Bernard can emulate fellow Brazilian Anderson by exploiting Newcastle’s weakness

Everton face Newcastle United in midweek with Bernard likely to retain his spot on the left wing.

The Brazilian winger, who joined on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer, will be targeting Newcastle’s weakness tonight.

Bernard just needs to replicate the success of his fellow countryman Felipe Anderson, who had joy down Newcastle’s right flank last weekend.

Anderson, who plays on the left-hand side for West Ham, ran rings around DeAndre Yedlin.

And he capped a fine performance with a goal when he dribbled into the box and slotted through Martin Dubravka’s legs.

Bernard has the skill to emulate Anderson’s success against Newcastle.

The 26-year-old only stands at 5ft 5in tall but what he lacks in physicality, he makes up for in dribbling ability and skill.

Alternatively, Marco Silva could use Richarlison on the left flank, given the Brazil international’s pace, flair and strength.

Whichever Brazil they choose to deploy on the left flank will be central to Everton’s hopes of victory.

After losing their Merseyside derby in crushing fashion, Everton need to bounce back.

And watching West Ham score three past Newcastle, with Anderson having a field day on the left, should encourage Everton and Bernard.
