Ben Woodburn can replicate Ryan Kent’s success with Rangers loan spell

Rangers have identified Liverpool wonder kid Ben Woodburn as a January loan target, .

Woodburn was a target for Rangers last summer and they are ready to reignite their interest after hearing about his availability.

Instead of joining Rangers, Woodburn was loaned out to Championship side Sheffield United. But after just eight games, Liverpool decided to recall the youngster.

Woodburn’s progress was stalling at Sheffield United and Liverpool are now assessing the best option for his future.

But they need to consider the success of Ryan Kent at Rangers; this is something that Woodburn can replicate.

Just like Woodburn, Kent was sent out on loan to the Championship when he joined Bristol City last season. After half a season of struggles at Ashton Gate, Kent decided to move to Rangers.

The 22-year-old has been a revelation in the Scottish Premiership with exciting displays on the wing.

This is the model for Woodburn to follow and he could resurrect his career with an impressive half-season at Ibrox.

The Wales international will take encouragement from Kent’s success north of the border and this should be enough to convince him to move.

Under Steven Gerrard, the 19-year-old could improve his game drastically ahead of his return to Liverpool next summer.

And the chance to compete for silverware and play regularly will be tempting for both Woodburn and parent club Liverpool.
