Ben Davies says 22-year-old put in his best ever performance for Tottenham vs Newcastle
Ben Davies believes Brennan Johnson put in his best-ever performance for Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
Tottenham thrashed Newcastle United 4-1 in North London and got back to winning ways in the Premier League.
Ange Postecoglou had endured a tough few weeks having picked up just a single point from five games.
The Aussie will be delighted with his side’s display yesterday though as they pressed home their advantage after taking the lead.
Spurs looked far more potent going forward yesterday and their front three of Richarlison, Son Heung-Min and Brennan Johnson impressed.

Both Son and Richarlison got amongst the goals, while the Spurs skipper also grabbed two assists.
And while Johnson didn’t get amongst the goals yesterday, Ben Davies was impressed with the forward’s display.
Davies raves about Johnson after Tottenham beat Newcastle
Speaking to , Davies explained why he believes Johnson put in his best display in a Tottenham shirt yesterday.
“It’s always tough when you come to a new club,” he said of Johnson. “Decent price tag on his head and there’s a lot of pressure that comes with that.
“But I think he’s handled it very well and I think today was his best performance we’ve seen from him. He was dynamic, he went at his defender all game and I think the best thing to say to him is you would make a full-back’s day hard work from start to finish.
“It’s just constant pressure and I think he’s a real benefit to us as a team.”

Johnson was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet yesterday as he rattled the woodwork late in the game.
The Welshman put in an encouraging performance though and caused Newcastle’s backline serious problems with his direct style and pace.
Postecoglou has already claimed Johnson has ‘very exciting’ potential and we’ve seen glimpses of his ability in a Spurs shirt already.
The 22-year-old will undoubtedly have to improve his efficiency in the final third but it’s clear that Spurs have picked up an exciting young talent here.
