Ben Davies makes Bentancur and Kulusevski prediction amid Tottenham struggles
Ben Davies has praised Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, and insisted that both players are going to be extremely important for Tottenham Hotspur over the rest of the season – .
Tottenham fans have had a glimpse of both Bentancur and Kulusevski following their arrivals during the January transfer window.
Bentancur made his full Premier League debut at the weekend. Meanwhile, the Sweden international has been brought off the bench on two occasions, including during the first-half against Wolves.
Tottenham are crying out for a lift. They have lost five of their last eight in all competitions, including their last three in the top-flight.
And they have thrown away their pole position in the race for the top-four. But Davies has backed both of his new teammates to make a major impact over the months ahead.
“They’re going to be very important for us for the run-in now for the amount of games we’ve got. They’re very talented players,” he said, .
Tottenham need Bentancur and Kulusevski to step up after difficult start
Neither Bentancur or Kulusevski can be held responsible for how Tottenham have performed of late. They both arrived on deadline day. And they are yet to enjoy a run in the side.
However, they still need to step up from what they have shown so far. Kulusevski, in particular, will have been looked at as someone to make a real impact after being brought on.
He has shown glimpses of his ability. But the 21-year-old has not yet managed to really get supporters out of their seats.
Bentancur has made more of an impression. Conte praised his display in the loss to Southampton last week.
And they will have an opportunity to cement their spot in the side. Tottenham are struggling right now. And there are not many players Conte could not justify dropping.
Davies is optimistic that the pair can contribute a lot before the end of the season. That could be a difference-maker for Spurs as they look to turn their fortunes around.
