‘Because of Mourinho’: Diego Costa’s past comments will give hope to Tottenham fans amid new links
Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Costa, with the 31-year-old, said to be available this summer.
claims that Costa will be allowed to leave Atletico if the right bid comes in and Jose Mourinho is apparently among the managers keen on bringing him to their club.

Costa played under Mourinho at Chelsea and was one of the key components as the Blues won another league title back in the 2014/15 campaign.
And any chance of a reunion with Mourinho would appear to have a high chance of happening, given Costa’s previous admiration for his former boss. Speaking back in 2017, Costa said:
“In all honesty I always tell people I am grateful to Mourinho because he helped me a lot. As a player when you want to improve you always look for the best coach and Mourinho is one of the best.
“I wanted to come to Chelsea because of Mourinho. When I considered Chelsea I thought about the fact that Mourinho was here.”
These comments could bode well for Spurs, then, if they do indeed decide to make their move for Costa.

Mourinho has been desperate for a proper back-up and challenger for Harry Kane for some time now and could well see the experienced striker as the ideal signing.
Costa would be superb at Spurs, he is still a nightmare for defenders – TBR View
If Mourinho manages to bring Diego Costa into the club then Spurs could be genuine top-four contenders overnight.
He might not quite be at his best like he was in his Chelsea days but he is still a pain for defenders and can get in and amongst the goals as well, something that will help alleviate the pressure on Kane.
And although the goals haven’t flown as much as he’d like, he’s so much more than that. Powerful, experienced, and a real nuisance, he is exactly the sort of player Mourinho loves.
