‘Beautiful’… Roy Keane left amazed by £27m Arsenal player vs West Ham today

Roy Keane singled out Leandro Trossard for praise as Arsenal thrashed West Ham United today.

Arsenal put in a dominant display in the first half and headed into the break with a 4-0 lead.

William Saliba opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark with a well-taken header and the floodgates opened thereafter. Bukayo Saka doubled the Gunners’ lead from the spot just nine minutes later after winning the penalty.

West Ham were undone by another set-piece three minutes later, with Gabriel Magalhaes heading home following a brilliant delivery from Declan Rice.

But Leandro Trossard’s effort right before halftime was the pick of the bunch in the opening period as the Belgian found the top corner after linking up with Martin Odegaard.

And while Roy Keane was critical of West Ham’s defensive display, he singled out Trossard for praise on today.

Keane lauds Trossard as Arsenal trash West Ham

Speaking at halftime, Keane admitted he couldn’t believe what he was watching from West Ham.

But he was impressed with Arsenal on the day and was quick to praise Trossard after the Belgian’s well-taken goal.

“This is it – this is rubbing salt into the wounds,” the Manchester United legend said. “West Ham, shocking. I’m really frustrated with West Ham, there’s nobody making any tackles.

“But credit to Arsenal, they make the most of it. One or two touches, nobody gets near him, beautiful finish. 4-0.

“I can’t believe what I’m watching. The way they’re getting beaten physically, set pieces. The last 10 or 15 minutes, West Ham have been a disgrace.”

Arsenal seem to be finding their best form at just the right time after a statement win overt Liverpool last week.

Bukayo Saka added another for Arsenal on the hour mark with an exceptional finish to beat Alphonse Areola at his near post. Rice then piled more misery on his former by netting a stunning effort from range just minutes after Saka’s goal.

As for Trossard, he has excelled in a central role alongside Rice and Odegaard in recent weeks.

The man continues to be an important part of Arteta’s side and his versatility is a huge asset for Arteta.
