BBC pundit slams Declan Rice for his role in getting sent off for Arsenal v Brighton
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice was sent off v Brighton today as he essentially cost his side points at The Emirates.
Rice was shown a second yellow for petulantly kicking the ball away from Joel Veltman just after half-time in a momen🧜t that has caused a huge stir.
Many inside the stadium felt the decision was very harsh and there were audible boos around The Emirates as Rice trudged off.
That feeling seems to be the theme in terms of reaction to the red. Ally MꦑcCoist admitted he felt Veltman should have been punished over Rice.
While over on social media, Ray Parlour slammed the decision as a ‘disgrace’.
However, while som🎉e feel aggrieved, BBC Sport pundit Stephen Warnock has actually taken an alternative view on proceedings and dug out Rice for getting the red.

Speaking on commentary, former Liverpool left-back Warnoc🍸k actually ♏suggested Rice was a bit silly and in the main, knew what he was doing.
“Declan Ri🌊ce knows what he’s doing,” Warnock said.
“He has had a little look and pushed♏ the ball away ♋then the challenge comes in.
“You’re askin🅘g a referee to make decision in that moment. When you’re stood over the ball in that positio𝓀n, why do it?”

Rice will be disappointed
Declan Rice has never been sent off before today and h🌼e will know in the dressing room he has let the side down.
Yes, he might feel the ref was a bit harsh on him but at the end of the day, the laws of the game state that he was in🐟deed correct to be given a second yellow.
Rice has to take responsibility here and now m𓄧issing the Tottenham game, it looks like it could be a costly red card for the season in general.
