BBC pundit says West Ham might have just unearthed player who can replace Declan Rice
Garth Crooks believes West Ham might have discovered their Declan Rice replacement already in the form of Tomas Soucek.
, the pundit lauded the midfielder after his game-winning performance for the Hammers saw David Moyes’ side secure a vital win at the London Stadium against Nottingham Forest.
With five goals already this season, the 28-year-old midfielder has been in incredible form for West Ham this campaign alongside James Ward-Prowse.

And whilst the sale of Rice to Arsenal this summer was seismic for West Ham, Soucek has stepped up to the plate in a big way this season, with the midfielder returning to his best form.
Indeed, the Czech Republic international has always had a goal or two in him, and Crooks now thinks Soucek has what it takes to replace a figure as big as Rice in West Ham’s midfield.
Crooks said: “They may have lost Declan Rice but if Soucek keeps getting into goalscoring positions with the same regularity he did against Nottingham Forest then the departure of the England midfielder to Arsenal will not feel so bad.”
Soucek can help West Ham forget about Rice, for now

Replacing a player like Rice would have felt like an impossible task for West Ham, yet finding an internal solution in Soucek has proving to be a blessing.
Whilst the midfielder’s form might not last for long, Soucek has rediscovered his place in the West Ham squad under Moyes this season in the best way possible.
And West Ham fans will be pleased by this revelation, with the 28-year-old now ready lead the Irons into a new era under Moyes.
