BBC pundit says one Newcastle player is ‘phenomenal’ with the ball after seeing him v Tottenham today

Newcastle saw off Tottenham Hotspur today as they had a second half goal from Alexander Isak to thank for three points.

Eddie Howe’s side were on the back foot for much of the second 45 minutes but sprung out of nowhere to score the second and win the game.

Isak tapped home from Jacob Murphy’s breakaway and sealed what could already be a huge win in front of the St James Park faithful.

As we know, Isak has become one of the top forwards around and it was little wonder we saw interest in Isak from the likes of Arsenal this summer.

The Swede has been a revelation since Newcastle spent north of £60m on him and after seeing him live in action today, the BBC’s Pat Nevin was seriously impressed by Isak.

Alexander Isak has ‘phenomenal’ ability with the ball at his feet

Watching the game for Nevin admitted he was blown away by just how good Isak is when he has the ball at his feet.

“Isak is phenomenal when he gets the ball at his feet,” Nevin said.

“He has this amazing ability to take little bumps off opposing players but still manages to get something out of it.”

Isak will be hoping this goal can be the start of a run of form now at Newcastle.

After scoring 21 goals in the Premier League last season, Isak will be keen to kick on further and get closer to 30 and fire Newcastle towards the top four.
