BBC pundit says Manchester City midfielder was “outrageous” v Paris Saint-Germain
Nedum Onuoha was left amazed by the performance of Manchester City ace Fernandinho last night, who is a part of the side that reached the club’s first ever Champions League final.
Man City beat French giants Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium, which gave them a 4-1 aggregate victory over the two-legged semi-final tie.
Riyad Mahrez, who scored in last week’s first leg, netted both goals in the home tie last night to book safe passage into the final. The left-footer was on hand twice to finish off slick passing moves for the Premier League side that are also on the brink of the domestic title.
Pep Guardiola’s side will face either Chelsea or Real Madrid at the end of May in the Champions League final in Istanbul.
BBC pundit and ex-Man City defender Onuoha wanted to give a special mention to veteran star Fernandinho for his contribution against PSG.
The Brazilian defensive midfielder celebrate his 36th birthday with a combative display last night, as he barely gave PSG time to breathe with his aggressive front-footed approach.
“You have to give special mention to Fernandinho. It’s his 36th birthday today and the way he played in that game he was outrageous,” Onuoha told .
“Di Maria doesn’t get sent off if it’s anyone else tackling in that moment. He knows how to prod and prod and he leaves the game without having a yellow card. That’s the kind of player that everyone wants to play with but he doesn’t get enough credit from the outside.”

Fernandinho is part of the Man City old guard still at the club, and he delivered an outstanding performance alongside so many of his teammate against PSG.
He captained the side in impressive fashion with a warrior display on the pitch, something fans have grown so used to seeing from him since he joined back in 2013. He’s been in and out of the starting XI this season due to Rodri’s immense form, but he was there for the big occasion last night when Guardiola called upon him.
