BBC pundit says ‘incredible’ Liverpool player looks better than he’s looked for a long time
Any concerns about whether Mohamed Salah would thrive under a new boss at Liverpool have surely been put to bed within his first couple of performances since Arne Slot arrived in the summer.
Of course, there are few concerns about the quality of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has long established himself as one of the best players the Premier League has seen. It says everything that he has put himself in the conversation for the greatest Liverpool side of all-time.
But there was speculation Salah could leave Liverpool this summer, particularly with the 32-year-old out of contract on Merseyside in less than a year. However, Salah looks to be staying at Anfield – and he looks to be raring to go this season.
Salah broke the Premier League record for most opening day goals with his strike against Ipswich Town last weekend. And he took no time at all to impress Paul Robinson during the Reds’ clash with Brentford on Sunday.

Salah was involved in the goal which gave Liverpool the lead, as he set Diogo Jota on his way before the Portuguese played a sumptuous pass to Luis Diaz. And as he continued to cause the Bees problems, Robinson told that he has been so impressed by Liverpool’s talisman.
“Mo Salah looks really lively, I think in pre-season, he was the best I’ve seen him looking for a long, long time,” he said.

“He looks fit, he looks hungry, somebody at 32 years old to have the energy and enthusiasm, athleticism that he’s got, he’s such a huge part of this Liverpool team, you look at his numbers every single year, it’s incredible.”
A huge win for Arne Slot
It is a huge win for Arne Slot if he can get the best out of Salah, as age does not seem to have any impact on the forward’s ability at all. He has scored well over 200 goals for the Reds, and he has already opened his account for this season.
Certainly, it sends out a really positive message if Salah is fully buying into what Slot wants from his side, because if he was unhappy, the Liverpool hierarchy would have to have serious conversations about his future.
But Salah looks to be absolutely determined to pick up where he left off – and that is only going to help makes the transition from the Jurgen Klopp to the Arne Slot era as seamless as possible.
