BBC pundit says 27-year-old Tottenham Hotspur player ‘has a point to prove’
Glenn Murray has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur signing Timo Werner in the January transfer window.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion striker and BBC Sport pundit believes that Werner could be a success at Tottenham.
So, what has Glenn Murray said about Tottenham Hotspur forward Timo Werner? Let’s take a look.
Glenn Murray gives verdict on Tottenham Hotspur forward Timo Werner
Well, Tottenham Hotspur have signed former Chelsea forward Timo Werner. The North London club have secured the services of the Germany international on a loan deal from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window.
Spurs, who will face Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday, have the option to make the 27-year-old forward’s loan deal permanent for in the summer of 2024.

Former Brighton and Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray has praised Spurs for signing Werner and has noted that the forward has a point to prove after his struggles at Chelsea.
During his time at Chelsea, the German forward scored 10 goals and gave nine assists in 56 appearances in the Premier League.
Murray said about Werner on : “Well, for me, it is an extremely shrewd business, someone that knows what the Premier League is all about, has international pedigree, has a point to prove, suits the system at the club, and for a reported £15 million option to buy in the summer, could be an absolute bargain.”
My View: Timo Werner a no-risk signing for Tottenham
In my view, signing Timo Werner on loan is not a particularly bad deal for Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs do not have to commit long term to the former Chelsea forward. So, if the rapid striker struggles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming weeks and months, then Tottenham could just not make the loan deal permanent.
Werner is not a prolific goalscorer, but if he is played to his strengths and allowed to showcase his pace and passing ability, then he could be a success at Tottenham.
