BBC pundit says 22-year-old Arsenal ace and £27m teammate remind him of Invincibles duo

Arsenal enjoyed an absolutely sensational day at the office in their latest Premier League match.

Mikel Arteta‘s Gunners cruised to a crushing 6-0 victory at West Ham United on Sunday🌸 which put them two points off top spot.

Unsurprisingly, this has led to numerous Arsenal players making the cut in Garth Crooks‘ latest Premier League Team of the Week.

The BBC Sport pundit named four Gunners players in his XI. Namely William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.

Crooks likened two of those players – 22-year-old Saliba and £27million teammate Gabriel – to Invincibles duo Sol Campbell and Kolo Toure.

“He (Gabriel) has forged a formidable defensive partnership with William Saliba,” Crooks ꩵwrote on .

“Whღich is not too dissimilar to Kolo Toure and Sol Campbell who were part of the ‘Invincibles’.”

Crooks, a former Tottenham player, concluded by adding: “Although I don’t se🌜e Premier League titles on the horizon any time soon.”

Much-improved Arsenal still pushing in exciting Premier League title race

That’s some strong praise from Crooks regarding Gabriel and Saliba (exce🐈pt for the last bit obviously), and it just go꧂es to show how much improvements Arteta has made to the squad over the past few years.

Gone are the ‘banter club’ days where the Arsenal defence was rickety and error-prone. Now, the Gunners boast a very strong defence, and let’s not forget Ben White and Jurrien Timber💙 (when he’s back) can al💙so cover there.

Arsenal aren’t far off th🧔e top at present, and we’ve got an exciting title race on our hands, with three teams very much in pursuit of the iconic trophy.

Admittedly, Manchester City will be a tough nut to crack now they’re upping the gears, while Liverpꦆool have the add🙈ed incentive of wanting to give Jurgen Klopp the best possible Anfield send-off.

Nevertheless, Arsenal certainl♒y have what it takes to keep pushing for the title.
