BBC journalist thinks £50m player is coming to England after Manchester United links
It’s certainly understandable that Manchester United are showing interest in a striker or two this January, Erik ten Hag’s side needs a boost.
Rasmus Hojlund𒆙 is showing a ton of promise, but will still endure dips in form as he settles in England and develops his game.

Ideally, Hojlund would have an experienced striker to dovetail alongside, but Anthony Martial isn’t fulfilling that role.
🎶With the Frenchman reportedly set to leave when his contract expires in the summer, there seems little demand for United to invest further time and energy into the forward.
So with that being said, Man United have been linked with January moves for experienced heads like Karim Benzema and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
However, recent links to Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee may have got fans much more excited.
✱Man United are said to be keen to add the striker to ten Hag’s squad in the summer, in what would seem like a smart move.
ꦫThat being said, journalist Luke Edwards has now insisted that he thinks Zirkzee will be on his way to England soon enough.
🐈Speaking on the BBC’s ‘’, Edwards thought a deal looks likely to happen.
Joshua Zirkzee could be the perfect striker for Erik ten Hag at Man United
൩Sharing his update, Edwards said: “He fits that profile that 95% of clubs are looking for, of young, what is he 22, young striker, really high pedigree as a teenager.
🗹“He was at Feyenoord’s academy, he was at Bayern Munich’s academy, went on loan to Parma, went on loan to Anderlecht,.

♏“He’s done well at Bologna and obviously I think a lot of scouts are looking at him.
ꦑ“Thursday night he was linked with Arsenal, a player that if I’m honest I knew a little bit about but he wasn’t really on my radar.
𓃲“And then suddenly within three or four days he’s gone from linked to Arsenal, linked to Manchester United, somebody is getting busy, somebody wants to get paid, somebody’s looking for that deal to happen.
𒁃“So, I’m going to say that I think Zirkzee is going to be in the Premier League next season.”
𒅌He finished: “I think Manchester United could do worse than sign a player like that.”
Wait until the summer
Although it may be tempting for ten Hag and Man United🎃 to chase a striker this month, patience could be rewarded.
♏As said, Martial looks as if he’ll be staying with the club for another six months
✨Moreover, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe currently assessing where work needs to be done at the club, it doesn’t seem an ideal time to be investing a ton of money into players.
ꦉAs has often been the case at United, the club needs to reassess their plan and vision in the summer.
🔯And it already feels as if this season is just one where the club would be best to salvage what they can.
That being said, 🦋Chris Sutton has already called for Man United to make a huge change.
