Bayern Munich having second thoughts about Mathys Tel as Tottenham continue big push to sign him
Tottenham are continuing to push Mathys Tel but TBR Football understands Bayern Munich might have second thoughts on a potential deal or at least the type of deal they will sanction.
Bayern have been inundated with interest with Tottenham leading the charge 𒁃but Arsenal and Manchester United have also held talks with the player’s entourage along with Chelsea.
TBR Football revealed that Tottenham have made a €60million offer🅰 which would be permanent or even loan with an obligation, which ever Bayern wanted, and that has verbally been accepted by the German giants.
🔯With Spurs looking for a mid-season boost, Ange Postecoglou is desperate for some late window signings.
But there could be a hitch in any potential deal.
Why Mathys Tel hasn’t signed for Spurs just yet
The player has not yet decided where he wants to play and now, TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey𝓡 can reveal that some members of Bayern’s hierarchy are unsure whether they should let him out at all.
♈Indeed, if they do, the deal could only be on loan without a permanent option – although the player himself insists he wants to leave after dropping down the pecking order under Vincent Kompany and sources close to the player confirmed to us earlier this week that he was excited by the prospect of playing in England.
♑Sporting director Max Eberl revealed he has been overwhelmed by the interest in him.
♑“He said that the playing time wasn’t enough for him and that’s understandable”, Eberl said.
𝄹“Nevertheless, we would have liked him to keep fighting. There’s no bad blood. I can understand him. I’ve rarely had so many clubs call me about a player before. We spoke in December and Mathys said he wanted to establish himself. Now he said he wants to leave. We have to think about whether we will do it and what we will do.”
Why Mathys Tel prefers Man United over Tottenham
🐲It very much looks like the race to sign Mathys Tel is on and will go right down to the wire.
🌌Tottenham do want the deal but when it comes to the play himself, Tel actually would prefer a move to Manchester United.
