Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah says midfielder Liverpool let go was as skilful as Ronaldinho
Liverpool have had some incredibly skilful players in recent years.
Luis Diaz has been hailed as the most skilful player at Liverpool in recent times, while Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the most technically gifted players in the world.
Speaking to Goal, Jonathan Tah has been playing a game of word association around a number of footballing attributes.
Tah has been linked to Liverpool recently, and, interestingly, he reserved some special praise for one former Red here.
Indeed, when naming the most skilful player he’s ever seen, Tah hailed a former Liverpool midfielder.
Tah said that Ronaldinho and Thiago Alcantara are the two most skilful players he’s seen.

Thiago was just as skilful as Ronaldinho
Tah picked Thiago and Ronaldinho as the most skilful players he’s seen when building his perfect footballer.
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this said about Thiago.
Mathys Tel said Thiago is the most skilful player in the world last year, while Diogo Jota said similar about Thiago over the summer.
Tah knows Thiago well from his time in the Bundesliga.
Tah and Thiago have played against each other on eight occasions, and the record is very one-sided.

Thiago, at his best, was an absolute joy to watch, and he was a world-class player during his time at Bayern Munich.
Thiago stats for Liverpool
As Tah says, Thiago was an incredibly skilful player during his pomp, but, sadly, we didn’t get to see much of his ability at Liverpool.
Indeed, Thiago’s time at Anfield was plagued by injuries.
Sadly, Thiago was barely a regular starter during his time at Liverpool.

Thiago earned tons of praise during his time at Liverpool when he did play, but, sadly, the midfielder couldn’t play as regularly as he perhaps should’ve.
In another world, Thiago would’ve become a Liverpool legend, and he’d still be in this Liverpool team under Arne Slot.
John Barnes said Thiago would be amazing under Slot, but, sadly, we never got the chance to see the Spaniard strutting his stuff in this new-look Liverpool team.
