Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal seriously impressed by £50m player Tottenham want to sign
Lamine Yamal was the star of the show for Spain against France in the semi-final of Euro 2024, but one Tottenham Hotspur target impressed everyone too.
Nobody really expected Spain to go all the way in the competition when it started almost a month ago, but Luis de la Fuente’s men have surprised many people.
Spain have arguably been the best team at Euro 2024 so far, and after knocking out France on Tuesday night, they will fancy their chances to win the final on Sunday.
Tottenham scouts may have had an eye on the semi-final, and one of their targets’ performance would’ve surely impressed them.
Lamine Yamal impressed by Tottenham target Dani Olmo
Tottenham have done well on the market so far.
They’ve re-signed Timo Werner on another loan deal, while Archie Gray has been brought in too. Young Lucas Bergvall has officially completed his move to Spurs as well.
Tottenham, however, are not done yet. They need a few more players to finish higher than they did in the 2023/24 season, and they have been linked with a few top-quality names.
One of them is Dani Olmo.
Fabrizio Romano claimed in April that there’s a chance Tottenham will sign Olmo from RB Leipzig in this summer’s transfer window.
TBR Football exclusively revealed in the last week of June that Tottenham and Arsenal have been made aware that they can sign Olmo for £50 million before his release clause expires in mid-July.
Olmo has had a fine Euro 2024 campaign, and he produced the goods once again for Spain against France at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old scored a beautiful goal to put his side 2-1 up in the first half. That proved to be the winner in the end, and Spain are through to the final now.
Barcelona’s Yamal, who had a stunning game too, seems really impressed with Olmo’s performance. Under the RB Leipzig star’s Instagram post, he replied with a bunch of fire emojis to express his admiration.

The one concern Tottenham should have about Dani Olmo
Olmo is a tremendous player, there is no debate there.
The Spaniard has scored three goals at Euro 2024 already, and there is a big chance he will finish the competition as the top scorer on Sunday.
Spurs are right to target Olmo, and we think he would be a great fit in Ange Postecoglou’s system at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, his injury history is a concern.
Since the start of the 2021/22 season, Olmo has missed a total of 68 games in all competitions for club and country.
That is a really worrying record for someone who will cost £50 million this summer.
