Bamford will need to step up if Leeds get bad news on Roofe’s knee injury

Leeds forward Kemar Roofe is having scans today on a knee injury picked up in Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Swansea City,

He managed to get through the entirety of that midweek victory but was pictured in a leg brace after the game and has had treatment since.

There is no indication yet on how long Roofe could be out for, but him being ruled out would be the hitman’s second absence of the season and would add to a growing injury list.

Rob Price, the club’s head of medicine and performance said earlier this month that the physio department at Leeds has already dealt with 45 injuries so far this season.

Another player who has had his injury issues this season is Patrick Bamford, who was ruled out for much of the early part of the season with a serious knee problem.

He has not really had the opportunity to prove his worth since the summer move from Middlesbrough, but the 25-year-old would need to step up and prove his worth if Roofe is ruled out for a significant period of time.

Of course Leeds do not want to get that bad news back from the scan, but if they do, the onus falls onto Bamford to get the goals and lead the press in the same way that Roofe has been.
