Rangers new signing Sheyi Ojo made an instant impact on his unofficial debut for his new club. The Liverpool loanee scored in Rangers’ 2-0 win over Mansfield Town in Portugal.
Ojo opened the scoring before Greg Docherty doubled Rangers’ lead. Steven Gerrard would have been pleased with the impact of his new loan signing as Ojo gave Rangers fans a glimpse of his talent.
The England youth international is hoping to get his career back on track after a disappointing loan spell at Reims last season. Prior to that, he spent time with Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham on loan.

Ojo has played 13 times for Liverpool’s first-team but will now continue his development in Scotland under Gerrard. Rangers might see him as the natural successor to Ryan Kent on the wing or the pair could work together if Kent returns.
But Ojo has made an early impression on Gerrard, who handed debuts to all of his six new signings, as well as Steven Davis. Ojo stood out by grabbing his goal early in the game.
Here are some tweets from Rangers fans after Ojo scored in the pre-season friendly against Mansfield.
Didn’t even know we had a game. Ojo coming in from right could be good. What was lineup?
