Ball identifies Kenny as a shining light for struggling Everton

Former Everton star Michael Ball reckons Jonjoe Kenny has been the Toffees’ shining light recently.

Marco Silva’s side have been struggling of late, having lost their last three Premier League games.

The club have been on the slide since their Boxing Day demolition of Burnley, and fans have been worried about the state of things at Goodison Park.

Silva’s team started the season brightly but have faded drastically, with scoring goals having become a big problem.

A number of stars are beginning to wilt such as Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson, and former defender Ball has his concerns.

Youngster Kenny a positive

While Ball is concerned about his former employers’ form, he is pleased about the form of fellow full-back Kenny.

“Jonjoe Kenny was one who got an opportunity to prove himself just before the break we’re currently on, and he has done himself justice in my eyes.

“He came in and had a really good game against Huddersfield, and in the following match the whole team wasn’t really clicking.”

Ball clearly rates Kenny, having recently commended him for not hiding during the tough times. : “Other than Jonjoe Kenny who shows a lot of passion, I don’t see too many others with that same desire.”

Kenny has started the last two league matches, and has made 12 appearances in total for the first-team this term.

Seamus Coleman has struggled consistently throughout 2018/19, meaning Englishman Kenny could well build up a run of starts from here on in.
