Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe has been discussing his time on loan at Aston Villa, as he comments on deciding to remain at Old Trafford this season.
Tuanzebe spent last season on loan at Villa Park. The talented defender played 30 times for the club as they were promoted to the Premier League. He would have played more, were it not for a fractured metatarsal back in December.
Aston Villa were keen on keeping Tuanzebe for their Premier League return. Dean Smith was ready to play the waiting game to see if Manchester United would allow him to leave.

However, Tuanzebe is in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for this season at United. In fact, he is due to start for the club in the Europa League against Kazakh side Astana this evening.
he spoke highly of his time at Aston Villa but believes he is right to be pursuing his career with the Red Devils.
“You realise when you come into the world of men’s football, and especially the Championship, you realise it’s not all about nice play, it’s also about doing the job and ensuring you get the three points…
“I had a conversation with the manager about what was best for my development. Staying here was the better option. I have faith in the process and the plan that’s in place.”

It is certainly a shame that Aston Villa could not bring Tuanzebe back for a second spell at the club. The 21-year-old is a top talent who could have been an important member of the Aston Villa team this season, providing strong cover in a number of positions.
Aston Villa fans will hope that Tuanzebe can find his success at his parent club.
