Atletico Madrid want to sign £82m Man United player in addition to Alejandro Garnacho
Atletico Madrid are now interested in signing Antony from Manchester United alongside Alejandro Garnacho, TBR Football can exclusively reveal.
Atletico are already firmly in the mix to bring Garnacho back to the Spanish capital and they are now taking an interest in Antony too, who joined Man United back in 2022.
Antony is currently enjoying a brilliant loan spell with Real Betis but a deal to take him to Seville permanently does not look easy.
Betis can’t afford Antony, either the fee or his wages, even if they do hope that some sort of deal could be worked out — although that looks difficult at this stage.
Therefore, given that Atletico boast strong spending power, Diego Simeone’s side is seen as a much better landing spot for the Brazilian winger.

That being said, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can confirm that Atletico have been watching Antony closely since he arrived in Spain.
Simeone’s side have been impressed with what they’ve seen from the winger and have registered their interest, as well as having some contact about the player’s situation.

In terms of Garnacho, it’s known that the Argentina international does see Atletico as one of his favoured landing spots.
Moreover, there is now an acceptance within Old Trafford that Garnacho will go this summer and they want him out early to enable them to begin their own business as soon as possible.
Garnacho has scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for United this season, making 49 appearances in the process.
And therefore Ruben Amorim would surely need a direct replacement, especially if Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are both sold this summer too.
Man United name their Antony and Garnacho asking price
As it stands, United would ask for €100m (£86m) for the pair should they be able to sell both this summer.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s side would be looking for around €60m (£51m) for Garnacho and €40m (£34m) for Antony — a significant loss on the United paid Ajax for the Brazilian.
Atletico could be set for a busy summer of business with the Premier League as they are attempting to recruit from Tottenham Hotspur.
Atletico are in talks to sign Cristian Romero from Tottenham, another Argentina international who would seemingly prefer to join Simeone’s side.
An important summer for United, and it’s crucial that any recouped funds are invested wisely – the club can’t afford another rebuild in three or four year’s time.
