Atletico Madrid keen on signing £20m Tottenham star this summer who’s up for sale
Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing a Tottenham player listed for sale this summer who is believed to be rated by Diego Simeone.
The north London side have had a quiet yet effective summer so far since the opening of the transfer window, with Leeds United wonderkid Archie Gray joining with Lucas Bergvall finally arriving at Tottenham.
With Joe Rodon heading back to Leeds on a permanent deal with Eric Dier, Tanguy Ndombele and Ivan Perisic also all departing as free agents, Tottenham have done a good job at trimming the squad as well as shaving off some significant wages from the payroll.
And another big-name player could soon be on his way out of north London via Atletico.

According to , Atletico are interested in signing Tottenham maestro Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who as per the report is a player Simeone would ‘love’ to sign this summer to replace Saul Niquez.
Valued by Tottenham at £20m, the Danish international has been tipped to leave north London for quite some time, with Hojbjerg yet to impress Ange Postecoglou after the Australian manager’s first full season with Spurs.
Indeed, a move for Hojbjerg would make complete sense this summer with Tottenham already revamping their midfield options this window, and Atletico could be an ideal destination for the former Southampton captain.
Moreover, Saul’s departure coupled with Tottenham’s valuation of Hojbjerg could inspire Atletico to move quickly for the 28-year-old midfielder, who heading into his prime will want to play for a top UEFA Champions League club, such as the Spanish giants.
Hojbjerg should be pushing for Atletico move this summer
Atletico have proven itself in recent years to be a good club for fallen-off players to make a name for themselves once again, and Hojbjerg could become that for Simeone this summer if a deal with Tottenham can be struck.
The north London side are clearly keen to sell Hojbjerg this summer after the arrival of Gray, with Atletico’s interest seemingly growing in their hunt to sign a midfielder.
