‘At least another year’: £52m World Cup star’s agent suggests he won’t be joining Tottenham

The agent of French World Cup semi-finalist Randal Kolo Muani has responded to transfer links with Tottenham.

Last week, French outlet  named Spurs and Liverpool as two English clubs who are keen on signing the forward.

He was a late addition to Didier Deschamps’ party as a replacement for the injured Christopher Nkunku but did not get on the pitch against England on Saturday.

The report said that it may take a minimum of 60 million euros (£51.8 million) to land the Frenchman, and his value could even get as high as 80 million euros (£69 million).

As per the consulting agency MDC Advisors, who represent Muani have issued a response to the report and played the links down.

The agents said: “Our plan is for Randal Kolo Muani to stay in Frankfurt for at least another year.

“He feels very comfortable at Eintracht. This is where Randal has the perfect location for its development.

“If Kolo Muani scores 20 goals in his second season, then such a step (moving to a big European club) would be more realistic.”

The FM report said that Spurs were keen during Antonio Conte’s first summer in charge of the club and that the forward was available for free before then.

But they missed out, only for him to go to Frankfurt, get into the international picture with France and see his value skyrocket.

Now, they have to wait for at least another year, when the price could go up again, not least if he plays a vital cameo role in back-to-back World Cup glory for France.
