‘Massive’, ‘exactly what we want to see’: Some Everton fans buzzing over ‘excellent’ news

Everton fans have been raving about the that Toffees academy graduate Ellis Simms has signed a new contract at Goodison Park.

The 20-year-old striker is one of the brightest talents to come through the ranks at Everton in recent years.

Simms’ prolific goalscoring tally for the Under-18s in 2018-19 led to many Everton fans tipping him for stardom, and he has been progressing steadily since then.

The Everton prodigy spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackpool, helping them earn promotion into the Championship with 10 league and playoff goals.

Simms sadly missed out on the playoff final due to a groin injury, then hurt his ankle after returning to training in September.

Now fully recovered and “feeling great”, the Toffees forward is “eager and ready to kick on and play at the highest level” he can.

And Everton fans are delighted to see Simms commit his future to Goodison long-term:

Simms is yet to make his senior Everton debut but is very much in Rafa Benitez’s first-team picture and has made the bench a few times.

Everton are next in action on Sunday when they travel to Manchester City.
