At just £6m, surely Liverpool star is the ideal summer signing for Celtic? – TBR View
Celtic need a goalkeeper. Talks to bring Fraser Forster back to the club for the third time seem to have fallen flat on its face, and the Hoops need to move quickly with just two weeks until the Scottish Premiership season starts.
Forster, 32, was in excellent form for Celtic last season – keeping 17 clean sheets in 39 games, conceding just 28 goals. But it appears that he may have the chance to break back in at Southampton, meaning Celtic miss out.
Scott Bain played in goal as PSG eased past Celtic with a 4-0 win on Tuesday evening. Bain was considered back-up to Forster, and even behind veteran Craig Gordon – but now the Scotland international is first choice.
That is because Forster and Gordon have left. Celtic need a goalkeeper, with the Scottish champions deciding against Joe Hart. So, news that Liverpool could sell a goalkeeper for £6million should place Celtic on red alert.

Liverpool are willing to sell 27-year-old Karius for a bargain £6million. The German is seemingly surplus to requirements at Anfield, after returning to the club from a two-year loan at Besiktas.
Though Karius is remembered for his howler in the 2018 Champions League final, it must also be considered that Karius conceded just 47 goals in 49 Liverpool games – keeping a whopping 22 clean sheets.
A bit of confidence and faith from supporters would see Karius return to that form – and playing for a ball-playing side like Celtic would fit Karius to a tee. At just £6million, Celtic have got to consider signing the Reds outcast.
