At £26m, surely West Ham should join race to sign 10-goal Tottenham player – TBR View
Carlos Vinicius has reportedly emerged as a target for Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, despite remaining on loan at Tottenham Hotspur. A permanent move to Spurs looks unlikely – but surely West Ham should be in the race, too?
Vinicius, 26, joined Spurs last summer on a loan-to-buy deal from Benfica after netting 24 goals for the Portuguese outfit during 2019-20. He has since scored 10 goals in 22 appearances and that looks impressive, but he has not been given a fair chance.
Three have come against non-league AFC Marine, but six have come in nine Europa League matches. Just 303 minutes in Premier League football have come his way as Harry Kane’s back-up and he has managed one goal in that time for Spurs.
that Wolves tried to sign Vinicius for £52million last summer, and are back in for the Brazilian striker this time around – but are only willing to spend as much as £26million to get him permanently.

Spurs look unlikely to activate his permanent clause, unless they can reduce the figure – which is believed to be above £40million. At £26million, they might be more interested in getting him permanently, but surely West Ham need to have a look.
The Hammers failed to replace Sebastian Haller in January when they sent him to Ajax for a fee in the region of £20million, leaving just Michail Antonio as their only senior option up top. Andriy Yarmolenko has been injured, and is more of a winger.
They were linked with Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri but saw a bid rejected. They need a striker that is powerful and quick like Antonio to fill in for the ex-Forest man, given he is somewhat prone to injury. Vinicius, then, is perfect.
The Brazilian is strong, has goals in him and is clearly adapting to English football. Given more of a chance, he would score plenty of goals and in a West Ham shirt, he would get that. At £26million, the Hammers do need to consider a move.
