At £15m, Tottenham should elbow Leeds and Rodgers aside to bring attacker back – TBR View

Leicester City have reportedly made an enquiry to sign PSV Eindhoven attacker Noni Madueke while Leeds United have also been linked – but at £15million, Tottenham cannot let a battle for his signature go without throwing their hat into the ring.

Madueke, 19, joined PSV from Tottenham in the summer of 2018 and has since broken into the Eredivisie side’s senior side. This season, he has broken into the starting line-up and has clocked up 17 goal involvements in 29 outings for PSV.

His form has also seen him earn England recognition, winning a couple of Under-21 caps. Leicester has made an enquiry to bring him back to England this summer, with the Foxes told they will need to spend £15million to sign him.

also report that Leeds want Madueke, as do Bayern Munich. But Tottenham – the club that let him go three years ago – have got to try and correct their mistake and bring him back to the club this summer for £15million.

Madueke only played once for the club’s under-18 side, before the London-born playmaker moved to PSV. He has since gone on to prove that Spurs letting him go was a massive mistake, one that has seen Spurs miss out on a proper jewel.

However, for just £15million, they can get Madueke back. Certainly it would be a decent move forgetting the history given his form both in Dutch football and the Europa League – and that Erik Lamela and Gareth Bale could both leave Spurs soon.

Bale remains on loan while Lamela is being linked with a return to Italy. So, Spurs could do with a winger and while Madueke would not start for Spurs – bringing him back for £15million would see Levy correct a mistake he made in the summer of 2018.
