Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran is ‘very interested’ in signing for new club that have entered the race to sign him

As Jhon Duran continues to bang in the goals this season, several clubs have lined up in front of Aston Villa’s doorstep to secure his services.

TBR Football revealed West Ham submitted a bid to sign Duran in excess of £30 million — an offer deemed too low by Villa as they rejected the Hammers’ approach.

A few days later, it was revealed by TBR Football that West Ham bid £57 million for Duran, which was also snubbed by Unai Emery’s side.

Paris Saint-Germain were keen on Duran’s signature as well, with the French giants hoping to pull off an audacious swap deal that saw Randal Kolo Muani heading to Villa Park.

There seems to be massive faith from some of the biggest names in football that Jhon Duran is indeed the real deal.

Luis Diaz backs Duran to become a top player one day as the Liverpool winger was convinced from day one that his Colombian counterpart was destined for big things in the game.

Jhon Duran is “very interested” in shock Al-Nassr move

Danie Sturridge is a big fan of Duran as well and admitted that he is really enjoying how the 21-year-old is developing.

While Darren Bent believes Duran is tailor-made for Arsenal who might need a new number nine to bolster their chances of winning the Premier League this season.

Now, journalist Santi Aouna has revealed that Al-Nassr are “in the race” to sign the Aston Villa goalscorer.

Aouna went on to claim that Duran is “very interested” in a move to the Saudi Pro League giants as well.

Al-Nassr are “considering” making a move for the highly-rated marksman.

From Aston Villa’s perspective, a sale would be a massive risk as they sit in eighth place in the league and ideally, they would at the very least be aiming to qualify for the Europa League.

The transfer market when it comes to strikers is quite limited in any case.

Whether Unai Emery would be happy with one of his main men leaving in January is another important factor to keep in mind.

Aston Villa would consider Jhon Duran sale for £85 million

In addition, Duran has shown time and again this season that especially when all eyes are on him, he has a penchant for stepping up.

The former Chicago Fire frontman’s late winner against Bayern Munich in the Champions League is the standout example of how decisive he can be.

However, Aston Villa could consider selling Duran, even though their priority is to keep him if a club pays them a handsome fee of £85 million this month.

Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed: “According to my Aston Villa sources and some will always say there’s an asking price and I can tell you that if they were to change their mind, Aston Villa, they would want £85 million in January.”

“The interest is firm from PSG in particular, so that’s one to keep an eye on. Chelsea have not reignited anything as far as January is concerned but PSG would like to sign Jhon Duran and ideally, right now along with [Khvicha] Kvaratskhelia who is going to join for sure.”

“But PSG have made an enquiry about Jhon Duran and they’ve been told not for sale and my sources have added the only way that Villa will change their mind if PSG or any other club drop £85 million.”

With Duran, lauded by Youri Tielemans being such a young player, it would be a shock decision if he indeed decides to join Al-Nassr and play in Saudi Arabia next.

If the Aston Villa phenomenon does decide to part ways with Unai Emery anytime soon, the hope for them is that Ollie Watkins is a top-class striker.

Starting and scoring the equaliser in Villa’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal, Watkins has showcased time and again that he can depended on to deliver the goods up front.
