Aston Villa think they have a player who could sell for £25m, he’d fund the Joao Felix deal

According to a recent report, Aston Villa are confident they have a player who could generate more than £25m this summer transfer window.

Aston Villa have already signed five players this window with Amadou Onana and Jaden Philogene set to become the sixth and seventh arrivals.

Unai Emery is eager to bolster his ranks ahead of what’s expected to be a congested fixture list due to their Champions League commitments.

Though, in order to facilitate further incomings, the club will have to trade and raise funds through player sales.

That said, they think one of their players could be sold for more than £25m.

Aston Villa confident Jhon Duran sale can raise £25m

According to Sky Italy, via , AC Milan are keen on signing Jhon Duran this summer transfer window.

Though, they face a problem in their pursuit of the Columbian striker as Villa aren’t willing to do a loan deal – which is Milan’s preference.

The Serie A outfit would like to bring Duran in for a season with an option to buy but that’s unlikely to materialise.

The West Midlanders think they can generate in excess of £25m for Duran and don’t even want to entertain the idea of a loan.

The 20-year-old is aware of Milan and West Ham United’s interest but has not yet decided on where his future lies.

Jhon Duran sale could fund Joao Felix deal

Once the Onana and Philogene deals are completed, Villa’s spend so far this window will be around £146m.

So, naturally, in order to comply with Profit and Sustainability regulations, they will need to raise funds through player sales to make further additions.

Villa are eager to sign Atletico Madrid playmaker Joao Felix and Duran’s sale could facilitate that move, which could cost up to £50m.

A telling few weeks lie ahead.

In other news, Unai Emery never wanted to sell a £5m player at Aston Villa.
