Aston Villa target Pedro would be brilliant mentor for Anwar El Ghazi

Aston Villa reportedly have experienced attacker Pedro on their radar ahead of the January transfer window, as it looks like his days at Premier League rivals Chelsea are numbered.

The reports that Dean Smith’s team are interested in a potential swoop in the New Year for the Spanish attacker and he could be available for a “cut-price deal

His contract in West London expires at the end of the season and Villa are looking at bringing him to the Midlands midway through this campaign.

Smith should ask the club to press ahead with a move for the Spanish World Cup winner and go all out to try add him to the squad.

The 32-year-old is someone that’s only played nine games in all competitions this season for Chelsea, but could definitely still make an impact elsewhere in the top-flight if given a chance.

He managed 13 goals and five assists last season across all competitions, which included him playing a major role in Chelsea winning the Europa League.

Pedro is a serial winner that could give the entire dressing room a major lift with his experience and he’s got the type of quality that could drive them away from a relegation battle.

One man that would benefit massively from Pedro’s arrival is Anwar El Ghazi, even if in the short-term it could make it harder for him to start on a permanent basis.

El Ghazi is a promising winger that has made a decent start to life in the Premier League, but can definitely improve and he missed a sitter in the defeat to Leicester City at the weekend.

The 24-year-old wide man is good off both feet and he could learn so much about becoming a goal threat from Pedro, who was part of a devastating team at Barcelona.
