Aston Villa striker Wesley posts on Instagram, some teammates respond

Aston Villa striker Wesley has posted on Instagram, as his recovery from an ACL injury continues.

The Brazilian has not been seen in Villa colours since the game against Burnley all the way back in January.

Wesley scored in that game, but left the action after 71 minutes after going down under a challenge from Ben Mee.

The 23-year-old – once a club-record signing from Brugge at a reported £22 million () – had sustained knee ligament damage, and underwent surgery days later.

It cut short his season, and it has been a gruelling road to recovery for the South American, who is being tipped to return in January 2021.

He is undoubtedly missing playing, taking to Instagram on Sunday evening to share his thoughts.

He wrote ‘I can’t wait to be in the field’, with captain Jack Grealish responding with ‘I can’t wait bro’.

Central defenders Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings also commented with messages of support for their teammate.

Prior to his injury, Wesley had been struggling for Villa.

He was finding goals on a regular basis hard to come by, managing just six goals in 22 appearances.

The club have now signed Ollie Watkins who has started with a bang at the club following his transfer that will cost the club £33 million in total ().

It is little wonder he the £35,000-a-week star () is itching to get back playing to provide a challenge for the Englishman.
