Aston Villa should recall Trezeguet against Arsenal

Aston Villa travel to Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League and it’s going to be a big test for them.

Dean Smith’s side should consider any points against the Premier League’s top six teams a bonus, but Arsenal are perhaps one that can be caught out.

The Midlands club should feel confident of causing a vulnerable Gunners defence problem, especially if they recall exciting attacker Trezeguet.

Villa have a better defensive record than Arsenal so far this season and it could be a contest at the Emirates Stadium with plenty of goals.

Trezeguet should be back in the team at the weekend, after he missed the last fixture against West Ham through suspension.

The 24-year-old is a skilful wide player that can definitely be a great weapon on the counter attack against Arsenal, who may still be without main full-back pair Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney from injury.

Trezeguet joined Villa in the summer for £8.75million () and the best is yet to come from him.

The Egypt international has shown in glimpses so far that he could be a hit in the Premier League, especially in the opening day defeat to Tottenham.

He is a versatile winger that can play on either flank and it should be up to him to get up in support of striker Wesley Moraes to ensure he doesn’t get isolated.

Smith does have a number of options out wide this weekend, but recalling Trezeguet would be a smart decision.

He was directly involved in 19 goals across all competitions last season for Turkish outfit Kasimpasa and it may suit him playing on a big open pitch at Arsenal.
