Aston Villa should consider ambitious move for Leicester winger Marc Albrighton
Aston Villa picked up a vital 2-1 away win against Burnley on Wednesday in the Premier League, but there is no doubt that they are in a relegation battle this season.
Manager Dean Smith should be looking to strengthen his squad now the January transfer window is open and it will be intriguing to see who the Midlands club target.
One man that should crop up on their radar is Marc Albrighton, who came through the youth ranks at Villa and played 102 senior games for them.
It might be ambitious to try prize him away from Premier League rivals Leicester City mid-season, but he would be a shrewd addition and he’s struggling for minutes right now.
Albrighton has played 14 games across all competitions this season for Leicester, but has only started in two Premier League matches.
The 30-year-old was a part of the famous Foxes team that won the league title in the 2015/16 campaign, but his role has lessened at the King Power Stadium under manager Brendan Rodgers.
Albrighton has the experience needed to help Villa in a relegation fight and he could definitely make a big impact if he returned to his boyhood club.
The winger has a tremendous work-rate and decent technique, which is why he would be great competition for the likes of Jota, Anwar El Ghazi and Trezeguet.
