Aston Villa set sights on £21m playmaker who’s a ’10 out of 10 every week’
Aston Villa have reportedly set their sights on one of Serie A’s most exciting talents this season.
The Villans are said to have sent scouts to watch Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson, according to .
However, Villa aren’t alone in the race for the 24-year-old. The outlet claims Newcastle United, Brentford, Fulham, and Everton are also in pursuit.
The Villans have enjoyed a bright season under Unai Emery, even staking a claim for title contention, and remain in pursuit of a Champions League place.
Ferguson is certainly a good shout for the claret and blue side considering his amazing upward trajectory at Bologna.

The Scotland international swapped Scotland for Italy in 2022 and has gone on to make 63 appearances for the Rossoblu.
Ferguson, who has also been handed the captain’s armband at the Serie A club, has registered 13 goals and five assists in all competitions for them.
His efforts have helped the northern Italian club remain firmly in contention for a top-four place. Last season they finished ninth, and the season before they finished 13th.
Aston Villa set sights on Lewis Ferguson
Ferguson has earned praise from Ally McCoist, who told talkSPORT earlier this month (via the ) that the reported Villa target is “playing absolutely out of his skin.”
Meanwhile, Rome-based journalist Alasdair Mackenzie told : “[Thiago Motta, Bologna manager] said after the [Atalanta] match, ‘It doesn’t matter about the goal. I always give this guy 10 out of 10 every week anyway, because he’s such a warrior’.
“When you look at the league stats, he’s got the second highest average distance covered.
“Even if you look at a team sheet and he’s down as a number 10, he’s not really sitting as a number 10 throughout a game, he’s covering every area of the pitch.
“He’s really been the all-around package because he’s been scoring goals, he’s been creating goals, he’s been working in both phases, defensively and in attack.”
recently reported that Ferguson carries a €25million (around £21million) valuation.
