Aston Villa reportedly battling Leeds for Forest star, could Lansbury prove crucial?
Aston Villa are reportedly battling Leeds United, Sheffield United and AC Milan in the race to sign Nottingham Forest star Matty Cash – but could a current midfielder prove to be a trump card for Dean Smith’s side?
Cash, 23, has been in excellent form for Forest during 2019-20. The right-back has earned a regular place in the side under Sabri Lamouchi and had a hand in eight goals, missing just three league games.
Sheffield United have made a £10million offer to sign Cash, but that Forest rate Cash at £15million. that Leeds, Villa and Milan all want to sign the versatile flyer.
Cash certainly has the chance to play in the Premier League and it might see his time at Forest come to an end – but do Villa have the best bargaining chip to beat the likes of Sheffield United and Leeds – in Henri Lansbury?

Lansbury has entered the final year of his contract and Villa could look to sell him. He played for the best part of five years at the City Ground, clocking up 150 appearances and even captaining the side.
Though he left on tricky terms, he is still held in decent regard by Forest fans. Including him in a deal to sign Cash may just tempt Forest into allowing Cash to move to Villa Park in the coming weeks.
It might see Forest choose Villa as Cash’s next club – and allow the Midlands side to sign the right-back over Leeds, Sheffield United and Milan.
