Aston Villa now close to missing out on another target after also failing to sign Loic Bade
Aston Villa have been busy in the market so far this winter.
Unai Emery has already added Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia to his squad at Villa Park as the Villans aim to break into the UEFA Champions League spots – while Jaden Philogene has been sold to Ipswich Town.

However, Aston Villa do not appear to be finished just yet.
TBR Football understand Aston Villa wanted Loic Bade – and were in advanced talks to sign the Sevilla No.22 in a £30m deal before he opted to stay in Spain.
Furthermore, sources informed TBR Football that Aston Villa were holding talks to sign Tidiam Gomis from Caen as well – although there has now been a worrying development.
RB Leipzig close to signing Tidiam Gomis
Not only has Bade opted to stay with Sevilla, but according to Fabrizio Romano, Gomis is nearing a move to RB Leipzig rather than Aston Villa – with Everton also missing out.
The reliable Italian journalist wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “RB Leipzig are closing in on deal to sign French top talent Tidiam Gomis from Caen. Despite approaches from Everton and Italian clubs, RB Leipzig are ready to seal the agreement.”

Despite approaches from Everton and Italian clubs, RB Leipzig are ready to seal the agreement as reported.
A France U19 international who wears the No.7 shirt for Caen, Gomis appears to be an exceptional talent.
TBR Football understand Manchester City have been scouting the 18-year-old as well as Aston Villa.
Unfortunately, it appears we will not be seeing Gomis in the Premier League anytime soon, as RB Leipzig look to add the teenager to their already vast array of talent, including Antonio Nusa, Xavi Simons and Benjamin Sesko – who Arsenal want to sign.
Aston Villa could still land another top talent in Yasin Ozcan
Gomis was not the only prospect on Aston Villa’s radar this winter.

Yasin Ozcan is set for a medical with Aston Villa after the Villans agreed a £6.7m fee with Kasimpasa for the 18-year-old.
However, the central defender is expected to return to Turkey on loan for the rest of the season – should a deal be finalised before the February 3rd transfer deadline.
