Aston Villa need a repeat of El Ghazi’s outstanding performance against West Brom
Aston Villa face West Brom tomorrow in a west Midlands derby where they need to snap out of a recent slump that has hit their Championship play-off hopes hard.
The erratic form of other teams around them means that Villa’s defensive instability and sketchy away form has not ruled them completely out of the race for the top six, but they need to buck their ideas up soon.
Darren Moore’s West Brom will carry a major attacking threat at Villa Park tomorrow but their own backline is leaky and one man who has already shown this season he knows how to exploit it is Anwar El Ghazi.
The wideman has had to be patient and wait for his chance to impress this season, but has taken advantage of injury problems and Yannick Bolasie’s return to Everton to establish himself in the team.

During December’s meeting between the two sides, El Ghazi netted both Villa’s goals as they exploited West Brom’s defence at will and were good value for all three points, before Jay Rodriguez’s late equaliser.
West Brom come into this one on the back of another late Rodriguez goal in the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest in midweek but Villa need to come out victorious here to get themselves back on track.
And a repeat performance from El Ghazi would go a long way towards doing that, as well as putting a dent in their visitorsown automatic promotion hopes.
