Aston Villa must act quickly as Lampard makes Ampadu available for loan
Aston Villa have been placed on red alert, with Chelsea manager Frank Lampard making young defender Ethan Ampadu available for loan.
The teenager has been omitted from the Blues’ pre-season tour of Japan, and a battle for his services next season is now set to take place.

Speaking after a touching down, Lampard said of the talented youngster (): “Ethan is not here as we’re looking at the possibility of him going on loan for the season.”
Last term Ampadu made just five first-team appearances under Maurizio Sarri.
The Wales international is viewed as one of the club’s most promising young talents, and some had expected him to play a part under youth advocate Lampard at Stamford Bridge in 2019/20.
That will now not be the case – and Villa should get to work quickly over the defender.
TBR’s view
Villa appear to be up against it with regards to bringing back Axel Tuazebe.
The Manchester United defender was recently handed a new deal at Old Trafford and is currently on the club’s pre-season tour of Australia.

United need to improve their defence and there has been some talk that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to hand the young Englishman a chance in the first-team.
Dean Smith completing a loan move for Ampadu – who was linked last month () – would be a brilliant way to move on from Tuanzebe.
The 18-year-old is a huge talent who is fanastic with the ball at his feet, and could complement the more physical Tyrone Mings and Kourtney Hause.
