Aston Villa hit roadblock in transfer talks to sign ‘powerful’ £30m player
Aston Villa have been the biggest spender in the summer transfer window, and Unai Emery’s side don’t look like they’re slowing down just yet.
Having already signed Amadou Onana, Ian Maatsen and Samuel Iling-Junior, Villa have set their sights on Yeimar Mosquera, with the Villa Park side intent on adding as much quality as possible to the squad ahead of their UEFA Champions League return.
With Villa also in talks with Baris Alper Yilmaz, there’s a real chance that the Birmingham-based club will end the summer as the biggest spenders in all of Europe having comfortably cleared the £100m mark already.
Yet one pursuit for a target has hit a roadblock of sorts for Villa.

Villa struggling to agree fee with Feyenoord for Lutsharel Geertruida
According to , Villa are yet to find a middle ground with Feyenoord over a fee to sign Lutsharel Geertruida, with the defender emerging in recent days as a top right-back target for Emery.
Noted by as a ‘powerful’ fullback, Geertruida was on Manchester United’s radar before the Red Devils secured a deal to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
Aa a result, Villa are now the leading club to sign the Dutch international, who as per the ESPN report is valued by Feyenoord at £30m, a figure that the Villa Park side are seemingly struggling to match.
Indeed, Geertruida would be quite the signing for Villa and an impressive new addition for the right-back position, with Matty Cash and Kosta Nedeljkovic the only naturals in this role for Emery.

Villians might have to bite the bullet in bid to sign Geertruida
Feyenoord are aware just how good a talent they have on their hands in Geertruida, who was a key part of Arne Slot’s successful side that saw the Rotterdam giants win the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup in the last two years.
And for Villa, they might have to accept defeat sooner rather than later in their bid to sign Geertruida, who has more than earned his £30m asking price despite his contract ending next year.
With right-back a position Villa are keen to improve on, Geertruida would be a perfect signing for Emery heading into the new season, and the £30m Feyenoord are demanding could be worth it in the long-term.
